MyToolBox, a new Horizon 2020 proposal submitted by the MYCOSPEC technical manager
The MyToolBox proposal, coordinated by Prof Rudi Kirska from BOKU/IFA, brought together a Consortium of 23 partners from leading institutions in Europe and China, including academia, farmers, technology providers, food industry (including 5 end users) and policy stakeholders who aim at developing novel interventions and strategies for reducing crop losses due to fungal and mycotoxin contamination. After a positive Stage 1 assessment, the participants hope for the full proposal to be granted in order to advance the state-of-the art in mycotoxin prevention and management.
Next Mycotoxin summer talks will be held on 10th July at BOKU/IFA
The conference aims to address hot topics in the mycotoxin area and to promote networking among members of the multi disciplinary mycotoxin community. Mycospec advances on infrared spectroscopy and chemometrics for the rapid assessment of food quality will be presented by Gregor Kos, a BOKU collaborator.
Month 18 meeting and demonstration session
Project consortium came together for the Month 18 meeting that took place at IRIS facilities (Barcelona) on the 30th June. Project partners had the opportunity to see the pre-competitive MYCOSPEC prototype that is in its final stage of building. The hardware and process control were presented as well as the User Interface that enables easy operation of the system and friendly retrieval of historical data. The prototype will be finalized during July and shipped to UULM (Germany) for the validation of the technology.
